AFC Fradley plans to become the most fun, inclusive & successful football club in Staffordshire by using the best coaches driving the most clearly communicated ethos & beliefs.
AFC Fradley has been the biggest single success story this Village has ever had. It has proved that with dedication, an idea and a brilliant bunch of community volunteers anything is achievable. It has brought all sides of the village together. For my child it has allowed him to forget about his fears and anxieties and express himself through sport. He has been able to play with his school mates, rather than travel afar to a club full of strangers. It has made him proud to say he lives in Fradley and represent the village. For me it has allowed me to meet new people and to learn a new skill coaching football and hopefully bring some fun and enjoyment to families and kids in our local community.
We don’t live in Fradley, but Ant is loving being part of AFC Fradley, he says his team is his football family! He’s loved making new friends and being part of the team! And his coaches are awesome, and they always seem to have time for everyone! Ant has always struggled with his confidence and has always felt like he doesn’t ‘fit in’ AFC have boosted his confidence and helped him socially as well! We love being part of the AFC family
Oli loves the fact that he’s able to get involved in football locally as it was out of reach for him before with established groups that he didn’t feel he could be part of. It’s real teamwork across the whole of AFC Fradley and as a parent I can’t thank everyone enough, it’s brilliant.
Zach is over the moon there is football now in Fradley!! Football mad now!! Very impressed with the Fradley team and the dedication!
Great to have something so local with such a dedicated team and very well organised.
Grace loves going to Fradley football. She has always wanted to play in a team. AFC Fradley all work hard and listen to children’s needs etc. I’m really happy we have found AFC Fradley.
Connor loves coming to AFC Fradley the whole club from the coach’s parents and players are like a big family so friendly and always understanding and willing to help
Emil loves AFC Fradley, he made some good friends, and he loves the coaches. He is always so excited for Friday team training and Saturday matches. As parents we are pleased about the impact of training on his physical, emotional and social wellbeing and his sense of belonging to the team.
For me and Dylan, joining the club has really helped us settle into the village, we only moved to Fradley in June and joining the club has helped Dylan settle in and it has allowed those friendships to develop and I just know it would have been slower progress if it wasn’t for the club, I know he has got some great friends now that he socialises with in and out of the club. And weirdly, even for myself it has helped me settle in more, at 38 it’s not easy to just go up to people and ask them to be your friend, the club has allowed me to meet new people who, without the club I maybe wouldn’t have met, and I really appreciate that. The best thing of all is the time it has allowed me and my lad to spend together, I asked him what impact the club has had on him and straight away he said his ‘favourite bit’ is me being the coach and the time we spend together, priceless!
The club has given the community back some community spirit, the children have little or limited activities out of school and has given the children something to look forward to at the weekend meeting up with friends, getting out in the fresh air and enhancing the skills they already have not only physically but socially too. I feel the team bonding has strengthened and created friendships.
Our football club ethos is a written declaration that sets out how we want the club to be run. It is for the coaches and committee to implement & for the players & parents/guardians to buy into.
We aspire to provide football to children of all ages and abilities in a safe, friendly and fun environment.
We will deliver age-appropriate coaching to support long-term player development.
We want to encourage all players to try their best and make the most of their abilities.
We aim to implement a winning mentality to best prepare our players for the ‘real’ game.
Promote good behaviour and have respect for others.
Encourage a coaching philosophy that provides clear direction, honesty, purpose and appropriate guidance to the process of coaching young players.
Communicate effectively, clearly and sympathetically, on and off the pitch, to promote an enjoyable and fully inclusive environment.
We are respectful, courteous, and polite, and we win or lose graciously.

It is essential for AFC Fradley’s future success to have a strong structure with ambitious, focused, and committed champions overseeing, growing, and supporting our pathways.
Football should be accessible for all, both girls and boys, and I am very passionate about girls saying they play football and being proud to admit it. This well-loved game brings communities together and builds friendships. If you are part of the team, volunteering to run the line, being the coach or standing there in the wet and cold rain whilst you cheer on your pride and joy.

This will allow everyone involved in the men’s setup to play in a suitable team. We have 46 players involved so far and are constantly adding to this.

I am also keen to see women well represented as coaches and managers within our club, utilising our internal expertise, taking advantage of externally targeted offerings, and learning from and supporting each other.

Now, being a father of 4 young boys, I’ve been searching for the same positive experience for them. When I heard the news, I was very excited that AFC Fradley was being formed and anyone could join up.

I’m a professional footballer. I grew up playing for Aston Villa breaking into their first team at 15. I’ve represented England at U15s, U17s, U19s & U23s. Had spells at Birmingham City, reaching semi-finals of Champions League and 2 x FA Women’s Championship player of the year & FA Women’s Championship, golden boot winner at Sheffield United. I’m now in my first season playing for Southampton FC.
Passionate about the sport but specifically football, enjoy coaching the game & have coached in academies for most of my playing career. I enjoy encouraging young girls to follow their dream of becoming professional footballers – currently completing my UEFA B License.
I have a First degree honours in Sports Management and am a business owner – Café No 8.
I feel passionate about supporting, providing & improving the village & community I’ve lived in all my life.
I have put together a committed and enthusiastic team of qualified coaches who can’t wait to welcome you to our club.
Katie Wilkinson
After launching AFC Fradley, the response from the community has been fantastic. More than 300 children have registered to play for the club, and there are now over 50 men and 35 women!
We are in the process of developing an exceptional coaching programme led by Professional Footballer Katie Wilkinson & along with her team of qualified coaches, we plan to provide a platform for all of our new coaches to learn, develop & gain the relevant qualifications necessary.

It can be used as an early-warning system or when it’s recognised that appropriate actions have not been taken. This approach or policy is adopted in many different walks of life.
